Halloween Weekend

Our weekend started off very exciting with plumbers here for over an hour in the afternoon and then several hours in the evening. They even had to take out one of our toliets! Needless to say, we had raw sewage on our walls, floors, etc. Around 10pm Friday we started cleaning and deotarizing so we could feel comfortable walking into our bathroom. We finally got everything cleaned and went to bed. I couldn't believe it but Noah slept through all the noise of the plumbers and cleaning! I guess he was pretty tired. It was his first day to switch from two naps to one. He completed the day like a champ by talking away, pretending he was a motor boat, pushing his new walker (thanks to the Gibsons!), and everything else he could find to play with. John could win husband of the year too. He was so much help cleaning (as always), washing dirty towels (more than once just in case!), and so much more. He even let me sleep in Saturday morning (as he often does), got Noah up, feed him breakfast, did a couple loads of laundry, folded the laundry, did the dishes...and whatever else I may have not notice. What a good hubby he is! I feel so blessed that he always does what he can although he is so busy. He treats me like a queen. Ok, enough bragging (John says not to brag on him like I do but I can't help it. The Proberbs 31 women did and he was praised at the gates...just trying to be like her...Ha)...

Saturday night was fun, we took Noah to the Trunk or Treat at our Church. Noah started out in his OSU stuff like Dad and Mom but changed into his Tigger (thanks Azi!) costume later.

Noah was so tired at the end of the night. The 'one nap thing' was a little harder with a later bedtime. He was past the climbing out of your hands tired stage and into zoning out. It is a rare event to have Noah sitting still on your lap!Really...do I have to wear the hat?

We were also able to get a lot of cleaning/organizing done. I organized my scrapbooking stuff (I now know where everything is!), cleaned several areas in the house, cleaned out our closets for good will (how do we always end up with so much to give away when we RARELY buy clothes?). Boy, it is nice to be home, get things organized, and be rested for a new week! We even had an extra hour this weekend! But, I do feel sorry for those on the night shift...they had to work 9 hours instead of 8...what a bummer!

OSU Homecoming Weekend

Our weekend was full of fun! First, Noah and I started out packing for the trip. He decided he would try to help Daddy pack by pulling out all of John's shoes off his shoe rack. Now he tries to do it every time he gets in our closet. What fun!
It was Oklahoma State's Homecoming so we were able to go to the parade on Saturday before the game. The weather was perfect!
Noah was ready to cheer everyone on! He even wore his #85 sweatshirt (John's OSU football number).
We were able to see several different groups of people, bands, floats, you name it! It was Noah's first time to see Pistol Pete, OSU's mascot followed by several Pistol Pete's of the past. I recognized the Pistol Pete when I cheered. How fun!
I did not get a very good picture but if you look really closely the parade marshals were Barry Sanders (furthest in the picture), Garth Brooks, and Robin Ventura (you can only see the front of the car he was sitting in).
Before the parade Noah walked around a little with Grammy (John's Mom). He loves walking and talking!
Noah and Laney (his cousin) also spent some time playing with Great Grandpa (John's Grandpa). He is such a godly loving man. It is a blessing to know him and be a part of his family! John and Noah get their big hands from Great Grandpa.
When it was time for Noah's bath, Laney wanted to join in on the fun. She likes to say, "Naked Barbie" when she sees someone or a doll naked.
What a fun weekend. We also helped John and Lori unpack into their new home. We were not able to do much during the weekend but are thankful other family members are able to help them out who live a lot closer. What a neat family to be a part of...a family who shows the love and servitude of Christ!! We look forward to seeing them all again for Halloween. Noah is going to be Tigger - because he loves to bounce (thanks Bekah!).

At Home Again

Noah is adjusting well again to being at home...little does he know that we are leaving again this week end. Friday after lunch we are headed to Stillwater again. John and Lori are moving into their new house. They just found out they have to get out of their rent house because it was sold. Since this was VERY short notice, they are hurrying to get things packed and some more completed on their house before they move in. They are actually moving today! Yesterday the carpet and counter tops were supposed to go in. I hope they did! We plan on helping them unpack and get things a little more livable. I know...this is just what they need with a newborn baby, a two year old, and the mother recovery from a post pardon stroke!! Please continue to pray for her healing.

Yesterday John's Grandpa (his Mom's Dad) was in the hospital because he was having a little pain in his chest. They ended up operating on him and he had 75% blockage and a stint put in. He is doing fine now and should be going home today. I am sure he will heal quickly! He is a tropper and such a godly man!! It is neat to see his heritage pass down through the family. I pray we can also teach our children in the way they should go also!

Sunday we are going to hurry back to Fort Worth to be with my family (Emily's) for dinner. It will be another eventful and fun week end!

Here are a few pics to show what Noah has been up to this week. Noah knows his bedtime routine...bath time, get his nighties on, drink some milk, and head to bed. He was very happy before his bath (good hand placement Noah!) but when we tried to take a picture of him before he got his bottle he was not too happy with us...he managed to look cute anyway.

He was also very happy to be in his own bed for naps and nighttime again. He either had to sleep on Daddy on the plane, in the prayer closet at the funeral, or we just straight up woke him up several times to keep our schedule going. When he got in his bed at home he was so happy to play with Blue, Humpty, Ruff, and George. He plays with them a little before he catches some ZZZs.


Of course, he also spends some time cruising around. It is his favorite thing to do!

He also found his old bouncy seat that I hid in the corner!


It is always an eventful day with Noah!

Life Happens, Scrapbooking doesn't

Because I like to save money any way I can and scrapbooking is fun... I make my own cards. Yes, it does take time but it makes the cards special and I save four bucks for every time. It sure adds up when you have A LOT of people in the family to send birthday and anniversary cards to. With the little time I have to get those done, Noah's scrapbook gets put on the back burner. Lately I've made it a priority so I've gotten a few sheets done. I've only made it to week three and he is 9 1/2 months but one day his first year will be complete. If God blesses us with another child they will just have to have a scrapbook made online. The first child always gets the best...that is just the way it is...

Friday Family Fun

We had a great time hanging out Friday night. We pack our lives with things (as everyone does) where it is just nice to hang out with the family knowing we do not have to rush to get somewhere or things done around the house (that part of the statement was for me, the perfectionist). Noah enjoyed going through the tunnel (Thank you, Makenna for letting me play with it!), watching Daddy play guitar and trying to join in on the fun (one of his favorite things to do), or walking all through the house. Doesn't he look like he is about to cause some trouble? I think he wanted to see if we were watching him. He loves the hallway because he knows there are pictures of Daddy, Mommy, and him. I point to them and say the name and he just giggles and then leans over to see the next pictures. He would play that game forever if I could hold him long enough!

Right now, Noah is napping and John is helping one of our friends move who got a position in a church (We will miss you all!). The rest of the day we'll probably play a little, do our weekly grocery shopping, and go out to eat. We have a gift card and some good coupons that we've been holding on to a while. We just don't eat out much but today sounded like a good time for that. Tomorrow we will enjoy our Church service and Sunday school. Due to traveling to Oklahoma a couple times and next weekend to California, we will only be at Church two Sundays out of five. I always miss not being there but it is definitely nice to be with family also. John's Grandma B (His Dad's Mom) passed away yesterday so we are headed out for the funeral. Please pray for the family as we mourn and rejoice that she is healed from over 10 years of Alzheimer's and now fully healed with God in Heaven. Praise the Lord!!

Our OK travels

We visited Oklahoma again last weekend. We left Thursday night and arrived in Fairview late. The next day was the homecoming parade where John and their team was honored because it has been 10 years since his high school football team won State! In the picture, you can see John waving to Noah and me as we look on from the truck bed...John's truck from high school by the way. Grandpa let him drive it in high school until he bought his car and now Grandpa is driving it around town again. How fun! We also got to enjoy a pep rally that day and then go to the game that night. It was Noah's first live football game! He did well. I thought it would be quite the task to keep him entertained (as it normally is) but he was so interested in everything going on. I guess I was enjoying myself too because I didn't even take any pictures. Noah looked so cute too! He had on a orange and black sweatshirt with the #85 on it. John was #85 through high school and at Oklahoma State University and the colors match for both schools too! I found it at Wal-mart when Noah was really little. It was a good buy! I will have to get another picture of it sometime. Saturday morning we headed to Stillwater for game day as well as visiting with family. We hung out with the family for a while until we went to the tailgating party before the game. It was nice to see Lori doing so well. Praise God for all the miracles He has done in her life. Continue to keep them in your prayers as she seeks to gain feeling back into her left side. She can move everything and talks beautifully but cannot feel on that side. Thank you all for your prayers! They are cherished and heard!

Tailgating was fun! We had some great food and fellowship. I also got to see my college roommate Emily (same name as me...I know! Good thing we didn't have a land line and just cell phones in college!) at the party. She was beautiful as ever...did not get a pic...so sad! She enjoyed seeing us too and meeting Noah for the first time. Next time I will try to get more pics. I just enjoy myself and forget about the camera! We will head back to Oklahoma for OSU homecoming! Go Pokes!

Our Rugby Player

Noah was sporting his rugby shirt today (thanks Toby). So we had to get a few pictures...I don't want to ever forget how cute he was today :)

Noah currently has one mission: learn to walk. He wants to stand and play or just cruise. Practice, practice, practice...and one day soon...he will walk. He is a much happier boy these days. Before he was cruising, he only wished he could get where he wanted. He has been standing (he used to jump anytime something hit his feet and would never be still and stand) for a few weeks now and has already mastered cruising. He started cruising (very wobbly of course) as soon as he started standing. I guess he had already mastered moving his feet in his walker so I am not surprised. He is more brave everyday thinking he can walk out on his own. Sometimes he gets a little too confident and ends up on his back. Most of the time he is just fine and wants some sympathy and loving from me. Sometimes I give it to him and sometimes I tell him to suck it up! Just kidding! Or am I? We have such a blast everyday. It is so neat to see him learning and loving life as always. He is currently getting over two ear infections, but as you can see, he is still joyful and playful. Isn't he the cutest!! You can see why hanging with him everyday is a joy despite the energy I expend!

We had a blessed Sunday morning and a great time in Mesquite visiting for Anna's birthday. I took a picture of my favorite people on the way to Church! Aren't they good looking!!

After Church we headed to Mesquite. We had our own Cornish hen, green peas, caramelized carrots, garlic bread, salad, and a couple desserts to choose from for dinner. It was a great meal! Noah even ate a little of 'big people food.' I gave him green beans, carrots, and some banana puffs. He ate everything. I was so happy!! We have really struggled with him eating baby food. He loves milk and we definitely do not have weight problems but he can't take his bottle to kindergarten! I even make all his baby food homemade...you can't get much better than that! I think he may have been distracted by everyone which made him just open his mouth without realizing it too much. He is a busy boy and I think he is just bored and does not like being confined in his high chair. This morning (Monday), I fed him again and he did not eat as well unless he had a toy in his hand. So, he was not bored but it was a battle to get the food in before the toy. I know one day I will wish he wasn't eating so much but it may take a bit to get there!

Noah and Makenna had fun playing together. They are both very interested in the other. Makenna enjoyed kissing everyone (one of her new and precious talents we all enjoy) and Noah loved watching her walk, crawl, and play with the toys. Makenna even gave Noah a kiss but Noah just wanted to grab her to show off his strength. Lily (my little sister, Amy's, dog) also got a few kisses in!
