My new pot...

I got a new, rather large pot for my birthday (April 15th). Thanks Mom and Dad! I really love it! But I am just now using it for the first time...Taco Soup is on the menu! Yes, I know it is summer and over 100 degrees outside. I will probably sweat from the heat of the meal but that doesn't stop me. I will say sorry to our company tonight...hope they don't mind :)I wanted a large pot because I wanted to be able to double and triple my recipes to freeze some. It is nice to be able to cook for many or freeze for later. I am all about freezing...less cooking and more enjoying! Check out the size of that thing...
I had to get a picture of this cute boy too. He decided to watch me lift weights while Noah was sleeping. He has never seen me work out. I've only worked out 15 times or so in the last 5 months. Not very consistent...I know. I would be a little more faithful if I got more sleep but waking up early when I am up at night has yet to appeal to me. One day...
Today I was blessed with continual company...a common thing when you have more than one child where neither are in school, day care, mother's day out, or any kind of babysitting. So Luke got to watch me work out today. It was just one of those days where I just wanted to do something for me. Immediately when I put Noah down for his nap, Luke woke up and then when I put Luke down again Noah was already up playing in his room. Those are not my favorite days because I never get a time to sit down and relax with the Lord. I typically can get 30 minutes to spend with God in their overlapping nap times. I would like to spend time in the Word in the morning but waking up early when I am up at night is not the best idea in this time of life...it probably wouldn't happen. Getting 6 hours normally not in a row doesn't make for an alert Mom in the morning! Sometimes I can read while Luke is playing beside me and Noah napping. I would say prayer time can increases when nursing a child at night but time in the Word decreases. I try to do Scripture memory during the day and that is nice. I've also tried putting Christian music on in the background. I love that! Noah has learned to dance/praise God with me! He loves dancing! I encourage all Moms with young children at home to do what you can when you can...I am sure your heart desperately desires time in the Word as mine does. And when you never have a break as I often do, you have to do what you can when you can. I know I need it even more than ever as I deal with potty training a strong-willed and disobedient two-year-old while holding a teething 5 month old as I am now. I pray the Lord teaches me to be more patient and gracious as I discipline with the love of the Lord and as I say something for the 100th time. It is in these times that I know how ungodly I still am but desire to become a more godly mother for my boys. I pray they remember my godly traits and not those times I reveal that I am a sinner. Thank you Lord for loving me and continuing to work on me each day!
